Sarah Kovich

Director

Welcoming her children into her world in 2001 and 2006, respectively, Sarah, as a single mom, has stayed focused on maintaining the work-life balance she and her family need to thrive. But Sarah knew that her children, born in Guatemala, left one oppressive country, and they were facing other challenges being raised in the US. After years of experiencing subtle and not so subtle issues, Sarah decided to make sure she leaves a legacy to her children and all children by working hard to leave the world a better place.

By working to help strengthen democracy, Sarah believes her children and their children will have clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, healthcare for their bodies to thrive, and a fair and equitable police and judicial system to keep their neighborhoods safe.

It became evident by 2019 that grassroots organizations were doing work that did not culminate in rides to the polls. So Sarah and a small team formed the 501c3, non-profit, non-partisan arm of the organizations: Rideshare2Vote Aware.

Sarah has led the organization to develop the only national ADA accessible wheelchair Rides2Vote Program in the US. In addition, under her leadership the Aware paid internship program, which lasts 24 weeks and has a new class starting every semester, started as a class of 4 and now has grown to welcome a class of 10 for the Spring 2023 semester. For Rideshare2Vote Aware, Sarah and the team has raised over a half million dollars for the unique programming, training, wheelchair rides and non partisan Rides2Vote program.
